New Imaging Setup

Closeup of the SXV-H9 camera, the True-Tech CFW, the SXV Guide head, and the Antares Dual Speed Crayford Focuser Front view, showing the custom balancing setup, made from aluminum channel iron and .75 lb. lead disc weights. I have since replaced the very large bolt with a smaller one. This setup allows for very precise balance in all dimensions. Also shown is the custom mounting plate made from 1/2" plate aluminum. Closeup of the Antares Dual speed crayford focuser. Definitely an upgrade from the better than average Rack and Pinion focuser included with the 80ED. Due to the unusual threaded attachment for the stock focuser, I had to drill mounting holes in the OTA to mount the Antares focuser. I then used a simple strip of black electrical tape to cover the bare threads. I now also have a means of collimating the scope, via moving the focuser.
